There are some faded gold stamped markings on the top

which did not have to be up to the same strength standards as an issue bayonet

The regiment was increased in strength to two battalions in 1803

The bayonet is also stamped 2 and '16

It has a very fine quality police eagle with an aluminum Feldzeichen cockade (often missing), which is in great shape. It is marked on the back with the "Barred A" trademark of F. W.
