This is an well worn example of an Italian model 1928 tropical sun helmet (first version pre WW2) which was used by a soldier of the German Wehrmacht, with Eagle & Tricolor shield badges applied to each side. The interior has a period stamp reading Eigentum der Deutsche Wehrmacht, or Property of the German Wehrmacht, a really great bit of provenance that verifies the badges as period applied.
