This is a massive crusader style broadsword dating from the 1880s originating from the Mardi period in the Sudan where General Gordon was massacred at Khartoum in 1884. Overall length 41 inches with over 36 inches of straight broad fighting blade the style still being used at the time of the famous crusader swords of the 13th and 14th centuries, comes complete with iron cross bar guard and leather wrapped grip.
