This is a gorgeous example of a Confederate tin drum canteen composed of two slightly concaved halves soldered to a circular band. This piece closely matches examples of Confederate canteens from each theater of the Civil War. All seams appear to be intact and strongly connected. Attached are three tin canteen sling loops (sling not present) and a spout with a cork stopper now stuck in the channel. We have not
