There look to be some UCHINOKE crescent shaped lines of NIOI cloudiness above the temper line

while the unit marking and numbers to be post war addition by a soldier who brought it home

This is a very nice early U. S. flintlock pistol, made circa 1810 1820, which was later converted to percussion. It was made using a "Trade" lock, possibly British, which still has traces of the word WARRANTED on it. It was originally engraved, but it looks like it was refinished when converted to percussion, which removed some of the surface.
