The explosive had a wide variety of uses during the war, and was definitely needed in relatively large quantities. Cardboard does not hold up well to time and wear at all when compared to wooden crates, which is why these boxes are so hard to find. It measures 29 1 2" x 10 3 4" x 9 1 2",
